Sirodhara
Sirodhara or Shirodhara is a technique that involves dripping medicated oil on the forehead. The name is basically a combination of two Sanskrit works, “shiro” which means forehead and “dhara” which means flow. The forehead is also known as the third eye in Ayurveda. The oil used is a medicated one which have healing properties. Depending on the problem that needs to be cured, the masseurs also use buttermilk, coconut oil, milk and water. The treatment is known to heal migraine, insomnia, memory loss, vertigo, facial palsy and more.

Greeva Vasti
Here warm medicated oil is allowed to stand on back of the neck. A reservoir made of herbal paste is built up on the neck and lukewarm medicated oil is slowly poured into it. When the oil cools down, it is taken out with cotton gauze, reheated and again put in the reservoir. This procedure is repeated for 20-30 min. After removing this reservoir, the affected area may be gently massaged with the same oil followed by mild fomentation. Later the patient is made to take rest for a short while.

Netra Arogya
Medicated oil/Ghee is retained in a reservoir made over the eyes with wheat flour / black gram paste. This procedure helps to relieve eyestrain and improves eyesight and many eye-related problems.
Nasyam
Nasyam is an ayurvedic treatment that aims at purifying the head region and nasal passages. Here medicated oil is instilled into the nostrils. The sole, shoulder, neck and palm are gently massaged and steamed, before and after the therapy.
KATI VASTI
Specially prepared warm medicated oil is poured over the lower back and retained inside the reservoir prepared with herbal gram paste for the required duration. Other procedures are similar as listed under the Greeva basti procedure. Kati Basti alleviates lower back conditions like low back ache, Lumbar Spondylosis, Inter vertebral disc prolapse, and Sciatica.

UDWARTHANA
Udwarthanam is a deep-tissue Ayurvedic massage using herbal powders and medicated oils. The therapy, involving upward massage strokes, is recommended as a daily routine for regulating proper blood circulation and complete detoxification.
